Ideally somebody with 2-3 years’ experience but what is equally as important is an empathetic nurse who doesn’t mind rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in from the start.

This hospital has a real ‘family feel,’ about it where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time.  Without layers of management decisions can be made quickly and ideas are encouraged. 

The surgical nursing team work closely with the Surgical Department and alongside the ECC, Anaesthesia and Medical Oncology teams. They are experts in soft-tissue surgery (cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal and urinary tract), surgical oncology, orthopaedic surgery, total hip replacements, neurosurgery and minimally invasive surgery.

As a valued team member, you will also perform anaesthesia and enhance your knowledge and capability by working with and alongside two European Diplomats in Anaesthesia. 

The roles are days offered on a full-time or part-time basis. A flexible rota is in place and you would be expected to work approximately 1 in 6 weekends.

They are looking for applicants with an understanding and monitoring in anaesthesia. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both in a team and autonomously. Ventilator knowledge is advantageous but not essential – training will be provided.
