NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  or suitable candidates  who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping service users access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

Job Title: Male Support Worker

Hourly Rate: £12-£14 per hour depending on experience.

Days & Hours: 

Monday: 07:45am - 09:15am and 15:30pm - 20:30pm

Tuesday: 07:45am - 09:15am and 15:30pm - 20:30pm

Thursday: 07:45am - 09:15am and 14:25pm - 20:30pm

Friday: 07:45am - 09:15am and 15:30pm - 20:30pm 

Saturday: 10:30am - 18:00pm

About you-Essential Experience:

Preferable support or therapy assistant with experience of working with people who have ABI (Brain Injury).

About our client:

Our client is a 17 year old male, who suffered a hypoglycaemic injury as a neonate. He was diagnosed with bilateral periventricular leukomalacia, and a cortical visual impairment. The client was delayed in meeting his developmental milestones and he now has some executive function deficits. These impact his day-to-day functioning and includes difficulties with:

- Self-care skills – Dressing, self-feeding, toileting, Sleep, hair brushing,
- Mobility including fine motor skills, mobility around the home and mobility in the community.
- Meal preparation
- Planning and organising
- Cognition
- Speech and communication
- Sensory processing
- Cognitive attention
- Fatigue
- Mood
- Self-esteem

He requires a support worker in his home to support him before college in the morning, and then collect him in the afternoon, and work on his ADL’s. This will be between split shifts (see Days and Hours above).

Successful Candidates will: 

• Have access to full Training - including Brain Injury Awareness Training 
• CPD opportunities 
• Will be subject to Full Enhanced DBS
