Job Description

We are currently seeking a hard-working and motivated Electrical Plant Technician to join one of the biggest names in the Waste Water and Waste Management industry. 

The role will be based on site in Peterborough and the working hours are: Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4pm. 

As an Electrical Plant Technician , you will troubleshoot and find faults in control systems (PLC's, SCADA, DCS etc) through reactive and preventative maintenance, whilst providing electrical and PLC support to the plant and assembly team. 

You will produce drawings and documentation for the plant PLC, and will work to maintain the electrical control systems in trailers, containers and skids. (Lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps and motors, etc...) 

In addition to maintaining control systems on mobile water treatment units, you will also be expected to carry out some PLC modifications and fault finding in the sites Regeneration Plant. 

As a Plant Technician, you will follow EHS and quality standards at all times, maintaining the integrity or work rules and processes and, suggesting possible improvements. 

Requirements:
  • Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software
  • Experience fault finding in control systems (PLC's, SCADA, DCS, etc). 
  • Experience in industrial electrical works
  • Natural troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • In depth understanding of EHS and quality awareness 
  • Ability to produce documentation/ drawings for the plant PLC 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Beneficial Qualifications and experience:
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations 
  • NVQ3 in Electrical based units
  • Drawing software knowledge
