Azotic has just completed a new Technical Development Centre close to York (UK) to house 20-30 scientists and administrative staff. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to join us on our exciting journey to enhance global food security. Job description:

Reporting into the Laboratory Management Team, you will be an integral member of a small team working across all aspects of Azotic’s product, pipeline development and research teams; providing technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the laboratories.  Training will be given in all aspects of the role which will include set-up and maintenance of laboratory equipment, materials procurement and receipt, sample handling, data entry and general laboratory and housekeeping duties.

Key responsibilities:
  • Support the QA/QC team in implementing and managing the microbial product assurance within Azotic.
  • Setting up, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Provide support for all the laboratory functions on site including stock management and ordering of consumables
  • Support a continuous improvement culture within the laboratory environment.
Key criteria:

Candidates are expected to have hands-on laboratory experience with a strong academic foundation in microbiology and/or biotechnology preferred.  Some commercial experience in a microbiology environment would be beneficial.

This would ideally suit a candidate resident in York and the surrounding area.

Essential;

  • Minimum C grade (or equivalent) at A-Level in Maths and a Science or minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
  • Detail-orientated with good organizational ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven collaborator with ability to work independently and to integrate well within a team.
  • Balance of patience and persistence to organise your own work to provide diligent and reliable outputs.
  • Proficient use of computer programs (e.g. Excel, Word).
  • A self-motivated individual who thrives on success of themselves and others.
