Job Description:
A healthcare organization in Wandsworth, London, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Paramedic Practitioner to join their dynamic team. The Paramedic Practitioner will play a vital role in delivering high-quality urgent and primary care services to patients within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Triage: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with urgent and primary care needs. Triage patients effectively to determine appropriate treatment pathways.
- Clinical Interventions: Provide evidence-based clinical interventions, including wound care, minor injury management, medication management, and health promotion.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls as part of an integrated team, providing rapid and effective pre-hospital care to patients in critical situations
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Patient Education: Offer health education and advice to patients and their families, empowering them to manage their conditions effectively and promote healthy lifestyles.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records systems, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge, staying abreast of latest developments in healthcare practice.
Requirements:
- Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working as a Paramedic Practitioner or in a similar role within primary or urgent care settings.
- Advanced clinical assessment skills, including the ability to make autonomous decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in areas such as minor injuries, non-medical prescribing, or advanced life support.
- Experience in using electronic health records systems.
- Knowledge of local healthcare services and community resources in Wandsworth.
