W Talent are now partnering with a manufacturing and distribution company located in Coalville, Leicester who are looking to hire a Supplier Quality Assurance Manager (SQA) to drive product and quality assurance improvements. This position will be a hybrid role with an expectation of influence and communication, resulting in improved supplier performance.

Position Overview

My client located in Coalville, Leicester want to develop and source exceptional products for their customers that exceed expectations.  Due to internal changes, they are now looking to recruit a SQA Manager who’s eager to develop and shape the business resulting in improved supplier performance.

This is a newly created position within the Quality and NPD team and the ideal candidate would have a supplier quality background with strong technical experience within new product development, quality compliance, and experience of working with a global supply base would prove highly beneficial. This is a hybrid role, working in Head Office 2-3 day per week and the remaining days at home or visiting clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain a new specification library for all new products.
  • Obtain and verify standardised product specifications for all new products.
  • Create final NPF (new product specification form) and send to suppliers for verification prior to production.
  • Ensure quality and compliance of new products to safety standards.
  • Monitor and advise on product compliance throughout the new product development process.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant directives, regulations, standards, CE/UKCA marking etc.
  • Ongoing monitoring of product quality of existing and new products.
  • Manage robust QC processes in UK for initial deliveries of new product and ongoing.
  • Responsible for all product testing, including confirmation of parameters to be tested.
  • Liaising with test lab throughout and sending and retrieving samples from test labs.
  • Review samples and produce sample inspection reports for all samples including off-tool samples during the NPD process and make improvement recommendations.
  • Check and approve pre-production/gold seal samples and confirm OK to ship.
  • Safely store GS samples and maintain inventory of all samples.
  • Ensure product technical files are kept up to date and compliant with relevant regulations and ISO standards.
  • Maintain all quality & compliance documentation.
  • Review and sign off all technical documents.
  • Contribute to carbon footprint improvement work.
  • Work with Category managers to establish suitability of potential new factories, with in person visits where possible.

Key Requirements

Key Requirements

  • Proven success in ensuring high standards of product quality and compliance.
  • Understanding of all relevant standards, directives and regulations.
  • Experience in supplier on-boarding including visiting factories to check and advise on QC and other related issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially for sample inspections, QC inspections etc
  • Degree (or equivalent).

Any knowledge of medical device regulations and standards for rehab products would prove highly beneficial.

What’s on Offer

£40,000 to £60,000 plus benefits including company car and the chance to progress into a senior management position.
