Company Overview: W Talent Manufacturing are supporting a market leading manufacturing company based in Derbyshire, dedicated to delivering high-quality technical products to various industries and now looking to find an Process Improvement Manager for their leadership team. Our customer is committed to innovation and strive to maintain being at the forefront of their industry, whilst ensuring sustainable and ethical practices in all aspects of their operations.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Improvement Manager with a strong background in manufacturing and developing improvements via SPC (Statistical Process Control). This is a pivotal role for the business with the successful candidate responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing processes with a focus on optimising efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance. The will have a remit that covers the full supply chain of operations and data must be at the heart of everything they do. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of technical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • A strong focus on utilising SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement within manufacturing operations.
  • Utilise lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other improvement tools to drive sustainable change and optimise production processes.
  • Analyse production data, performance metrics, and KPIs to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Confident in utilising an ERP system to extract material flow data to identify wider improvements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to streamline workflows, standardise processes, and implement best practices.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to employees at all levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communicate progress, successes, and challenges related to continuous improvement initiatives to senior management and key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical or technical discipline
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in a similar role within a highly technical or complex manufacturing industry – continuous process would be advantageous
  • A proven track record as a process/manufacturing or CI Engineer would be highly advantageous
  • Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to all levels of the business
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement certifications preferred.
