Job Description:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing person-centred care and support to adults with Learning Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support and care to individuals with Learning Disabilities.
- Administer medication to individuals as prescribed.
- Develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring regular reviews and updates.
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards.
- Establish effective communication with service users, families, and professionals.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and activities.
- Monitor and record the progress and well-being of service users.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum of 1-year care experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a care role
- Experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities is highly desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in administering medication
- Ability to create and implement person-centred care plans
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliability and flexibility in working hours
- Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher-level qualifications in Health and Social Care
- Additional training in specialised areas such as epilepsy management, autism awareness, or challenging behaviour management
Working Conditions:
- Primarily residential setting for adults with Learning Disabilities
- May require evening, weekend, and on-call shifts
- Physical stamina and ability to assist with personal care tasks
- Exposure to challenging behaviours and potentially emotionally demanding situations
