An opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer is available with my client who are leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery. To be considered for this position you will be confident with electrical and mechanical service, repair, maintenance and modifications on similar packaging machinery, special purpose machinery or automated equipment within pharmaceutical, food and beverage environments. You will be ideally based in Newbridge, Kildare or Naas. You will also have previous customer facing experience and be happy to travel to customers in Ireland.
 

Service Engineer role:
Reporting to the Service Manager the successful Service Engineer will be based from home and responsible for the following:

• Installation and maintenance of industrial packaging machines imported from Europe at customer sites in Ireland for the pharmaceutical, ensuring installation & commissioning is conducted according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Operation of machinery to analyse faults, consult with suppliers’ technical help desk by phone and/or online through internet connection and resolving the issues as required.
• Maintenance work of delivered machines, support and communication with customers’ factory engineers and machine operators
• Proposing necessary maintenance work and/or spare parts supply to customers.
• Study / review machine manuals and specifications, ensuring customers understand important points by providing training to customers, their engineers and interested parties.
• Maintain good comms within the service team and consult HQ Service team to resolve machine problems in system operations and maintenance
• On-site Training of the customers’ personnel
• Production support at customers’ site

Service Engineer requirement:
Educated with a relevant electrical engineering qualification ONC / HNC or similar
Multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical skills
Proven packaging machinery / automated machinery / special purpose machinery, field service background.
You will be ideally based in Newbridge, Kildare or Naas in Ireland
Working within food and beverage production
Basic PLC / HMI experience
Valid UK Passport
Happy to travel Ireland with occasional nights away and trips abroad for occasional training
Excellent time management skills / Confident and friendly communicator
Some weekend work is required.
 

Service Engineer package:
Salary circa £40k - £45k + O/T
