Junior Buyer

We currently have a very exciting role for a Junior Buyer for a leading and expanding manufacturing company based in Lymington.  This would suit an up and coming Buyer or Purchasing Assistant looking for progression.

The Junior Buyer will have a very important role within the business, supporting the Technical Buyers and improving the logistics of the procurement operation, particularly within logistics and consumable buying.

This is a fantastic opportunity, for the right candidate there will be progression opportunities into the technical side of the site's buying - any positive impact this person makes will be noticed company wide!

There is an element of admin involved in this role, so this role would suit someone who enjoys the responsibility of ensuring that the department’s affairs are in order, someone that is confident chasing people on and off the phone as well as being highly organised. 

Experience with Inward processing, freight and import/export a distinct advantage but not necessary.  

Responsibilities

• Support the technical buying department as required.
• Communicate with suppliers to ensure delivery dates will be met.
• Organise logistics, freight and import/export paperwork alongside our customs agents.  
• Track consumables and replenish when necessary.
•  Assist with the management of the stock system.
• Assist with regular stock takes.
• Ensure stock lists and costs are up to date.
• Ensure stores have copies of upcoming PO’s to match deliveries to.
• Scan and file delivery notes.
• Manage and oversee stock movements ensuring project managers have signed off.
• Update the project managers with the required information.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday Days full time, however there is flexibility for the right candidate, which could look like a 3 day week or between school hours as an example.

Salary:

£26K - £30K  (For reduced hours there will be a pro rata salary)
