The shift pattern is full-time, four days per week, working 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, meaning no evenings and only 1 in 4 Saturdays. You don’t need Ophthalmic experience, as full training is provided.
If you were already in this Ophthalmic Nurse role, here are some of the areas you would have been working in this week:
- Administering drugs following NMC guidelines for safe and secure handling of medicines
- Undertaking all care for patients whilst in the hospital, including diagnostic tests and post-operative care
- Assisting with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available
- Providing support and mentorship to colleagues and new staff
- 12 months post-registration experience
- To be passionate about developing a career in Ophthalmology
- A full training programme
