Registered Veterinary Nurse - 6 Month Maternity Cover (potential to extend)

Posted a week ago by Simply Vets

Location:
Battersea
Salary/Rate:
£26,000 - £31,000/annum

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to cover maternity leave from middle of July 2024 onwards. This is currently a 6-month role but there is potential to extend if the staff member does not return to work after the maternity leave ends.

We are advertising early to enable time to find someone suitable for the position. You will also be able to meet the team and see if the role is right for you.

Shifts are Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm with one hour lunch break unpaid. We can be flexible if you are wanting less than 40 hours per week.

The candidate will be expected to work one Saturday morning a month 9am-1.30pm. This can be taken as time in lieu or extra pay.

The role is mainly surgery/medical nursing with some nurse consultations.

Due to this being a temporary position, we can only accept UK candidates, but we will consider other qualified veterinary nurses if they have the intention of sitting their OSCEs to become registered.

Ideal candidate would be one-year qualified with paid work experience. The salary will be £30,000 circa for 40 hours per week ( dependent on experience).

Our usual day

One vet consults all day and the other does a mixture of consults and surgery. We have three to four procedures/surgeries booked each day. Two RVNs look after the surgery and medical patients, one support staff on reception and one support staff in the office answering phone calls/dealing with emails.

Benefits

- 10 days annual leave if staying for 6 months only, plus bank holidays (pro rata). If staying longer than 6 months annual leave is 20 days per year.

- CPD allowance.
