Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: £40k - £50k + Benefits

Location: Cardiff

nGenium is currently recruiting for a leading manufacturer of Scientific instruments within research and analytical laboratories. They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in PLC’s to join their growing engineering team.

In this Manufacturing Engineer role, you can expect:

  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes and equipment including jigs and fixtures etc. both standalone and automated to meet project requirements and safety standards.
  • Contributing to the improvement of efficiency and productivity.
  • Producing documentation, including risk assessments and production work instructions.
  • Supervising or assisting in process modifications and tooling changeovers.
  • Performing repair and modification tasks on site facilities and equipment, including electrical wiring and service installations.

A suitable Engineer would need

  • Installation of single and three phase electrical circuits qualifications.
  • Preferably holding an 18th Edition Electrical Wiring qualification. (Desirable)
  • Experience Design PLC’s/Control systems in Siemens S7 & UR 6 axis robots.
  • Ability to read / write and understand engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Pneumatics experience
  • Competence in operating workshop equipment such as Lathes, Milling Machines etc.
  • Legislative experience of Machinery Directive and Equipment Building requirements.
  • Practical and able to problem solve
  • Self-disciplined.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of 5S, lean and HS&E practices.
