An opportunity is available at a diagnostics manufacturing company for a QC Manager to join its team. In this role, you will oversee a small team to ensure that the QC department fulfills its responsibilities, guaranteeing that all kits meet global specifications and uphold the highest quality standards upon release. Candidates should possess substantial experience in a commercial, GMP-compliant QC environment, along with a demonstrated background in management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understanding of QC roles and responsibilities within QC team
  • Responsible for the approval of appropriate raw materials, in-process products and final products
  • Conduct necessary investigations on kits or products not conforming to standards and specifications
  • Regular reviews of calibration systems
  • Responsible for interpretation of data to foresee potential issues in products
  • Responsible for ensuring that QC documentation is present, relevant and up to date
  • Contribute to identifying corrective and preventive action to improve processes
  • Management of QC staff
  • Responsible for ensuring that QC team are appropriately trained to perform their job and identify areas of training needed
  • Oversee all performance reviews of QC team
  • Provide guidance and support to QC team
  • To perform any other duties as required by the business
  • To work closely with the Manufacturing team to ensure consistent quality
  • To develop and monitor relevant KPIs
  • Member of Site Leadership Team

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Significant experience in a science-based company in a senior QC Senior role
  • Relevant and excellent understanding and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Working knowledge of ELISA processes and workflows.
  • Ability to be methodical, conscientious, organized and show attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, guide direct team members in departmental procedures as required by the business .
  • Good communication at all levels and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to plan and to work with a fluctuating testing schedule.
  • To maintain a high level of integrity, motivation and reliability in all work.
  • To be decisive where needed, display decision making skills, provide relevant guidance, mentoring and leadership to the team.
  • Working knowledge of ERP system is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Macros.
