As a Deputy Ward Manager, you'll:

  • Provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager.
  • Bring a degree of clinical experience and leadership that instils confidence in the nursing team and ward overall.
  • Have defined delegated responsibilities from the ward manager, with protected time for deputy ward manager duties.
  • Have supervisory responsibilities for an agreed group of staff.

The ideal Deputy Ward Manager will:

  • Be a first level Registered Nurse (RMN).
  • Have clinical supervision experience (training is desirable).
  • Show evidence of CPD and intent to maintain and develop CPD and leadership.
  • Have good computer skills.
  • Have experience in Acute Mental Health.
  • Have at least 3 years, or equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Mentorship is desirable, however, training could be provided.
