We have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Animal Technician to join our clients growing team in Surrey. Our client proudly holds over 100 years of outstanding achievement in the industry and is rated in the top four centres for cancer research and treatment in the world.

As a part of the Oncology Team, you will support preclinical work using genetically modified mouse models and patients. You must have a PIL and previous experience as a Licensed Animal Technician.

The role:

  • Daily checking of cages and animals for signs of husbandry and welfare requirements
  • To maintain colonies of patient derived tumour lines in-vivo
  • To maintain colonies of breeding and experimental Transgenic mouse models
  • To run experimental studies at all stages i.e., randomisation, enrolment, dosing, measurements, and sampling
  • To carry out procedures under the authority of the relevant Home Office personal and project licences
  • To ensure routine husbandry procedures are followed within the BSU
  • To ensure adequate provision of food and water as described in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • To maintain all working areas to the acceptable standard

What we’re looking for:

  • Home Office Modules A - C
  • Ability to conduct IV, IP, PO, IV drug application
  • Experience in tumour measurements and basic tumour imaging techniques
  • Ability to conduct basic surgery in particular castration and implantation of tumour tissue would be advantageous
