Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £150,000 - £165,000 

Hours: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist seeking a rewarding opportunity in the West Midlands? We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly-motivated professional to join the team at our specialist acute service for male and female patients.

Position Overview:

The hospital cares for male and female patients aged 18 and over. We now have a full time Consultant vacancy to cover 17 beds in our acute service. You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients supervising the process of referral and admission, including contribution to the pre-admission assessments of adults of working age. You will be part of a well-established and cohesive team of medics which includes a Medical Director, Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctors, Registered Medical Officer and Medical Students from the local University. 

Requirements:

• You must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent and have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties
• You will have experience at Consultant level within the NHS, including the ability to conduct training. 
• You will continue to hold a registration with the GMC including being on the special register for Psychiatry.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
