We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Major Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join dynamic operating theatre team. As a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of excellent patient care, ensuring the highest standards during orthopaedic surgeries.

Pay Rate:

  • £28.00 - £45.00 per hour

Shifts patterns available:

  •  Flexible shifts, Full time-Part time / weekends

Role Requiremens:

  • NMC/ HCPC registered- your pin must not have any restrictions or conditions

  • Degree or Qualification Certificate

  • 6 months minimum experience within theatres department in the UK

  • Right to work within the UK

  • Fulfil the compliance requirements of our framework, including those related to DBS, Occupational Health, and an updated CV

Responsibilities:

- Prepare the operating room for Major Orthopaedic surgeries, including setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the surgeon's preferences

- Assist in the preoperative assessment of patients, ensuring their readiness for surgery and obtaining informed consent

- Scrubbing and assisting the surgeon during Major Orthopaedic surgeries, maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure

- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist in providing necessary equipment and supplies during the surgery

- Maintain accurate documentation and records of surgical procedures, including the use of instruments, supplies, and medications

- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the procedure

- Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including anaesthetists, surgeons, and theatre nurses to ensure seamless and effective patient care

- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated with the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery techniques and technology

- Adhere to all infection control and health and safety protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating theatre

Essential:

- Excellent knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies used in orthopaedic surgeries

- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control protocols

- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, surgeons, and other members of the surgical team

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call hours
