We're excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Synthesis Research Chemist to join our team in a cutting-edge research environment. We're looking for someone who is highly motivated, innovative and eager to grow their career with an industrial post-doctoral opportunity.

In this role, you'll have the chance to work on multi-disciplinary projects alongside world-class scientists in the field of Agrochemistry. Together, you'll be working towards the creation of next-generation weed control products.

Our client welcomes candidates from a variety of academic and industrial backgrounds, so previous experience in the field of Agrochemistry is not essential. Our client will provide a comprehensive training package to ensure your success in this role.

As a Senior Synthetic Organic Chemist, you'll be responsible for designing safe, sustainable, and effective synthetic routes to target molecules. You'll execute synthesis to the highest standards, partnering with support platforms to maximize efficiency and address critical challenges.

You'll also be responsible for developing creative solutions to complex synthetic challenges, maintaining a broad perspective of the external synthetic chemistry environment, and championing the adoption of new methodologies and technology.

To be successful in this role, you'll need a PhD in organic chemistry (or a related discipline) or equivalent experience in industry. You should have excellent chemical knowledge and understanding, particularly in synthetic organic chemistry. Be able to summarise and present scientific results and ideas to colleagues in a compelling and engaging manner. Additionally, you should be able to deliver with autonomy, independently planning, organising, and prioritising your own time to achieve a high level of productivity.

In addition to the key accountabilities, this role offers opportunities for additional specialisms depending on the skills or experiences you bring to the role and shaped by future development preferences. These include but are not limited to specialisms within synthesis, such as expertise in specific synthetic methodologies or technologies.
