Purpose

You will responsible for all aspects of Engineering and Maintenance on the production line. You will be required to plan. manage, and monitor engineering functions. You will be responsible for overseeing various engineering projects, processes and timelines and making any necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion. To have responsibility for the health, safety, quality and environmental policies and practices in the engineering team.



Job Description:

  • Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert.
  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, SOP processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
  • Propose timelines for engineering projects.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
  • Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs.
  • To assist with the recruitment of engineering staff members,
  • To train and supervise engineering staff members.
  • Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes!
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Provide leadership for HSE within the Engineering function and positively influence the progression of a behavioural safety and risk management culture.
  • Develop the continuous improvement culture within Engineering through the effective implementation and use of lean tools and techniques by all Engineers.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures.
  • To plan and implement a PPM process and to oversee any work undertaken by the Engineering team.
  • To maintain relevant stock levels.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Head of Procurement, Projects and Engineering

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Relevant Qualifications in engineering / maintenance - electrical or mechanical
  • 18th Edition
  • Industrial 3 phase knowledge
  • Extensive electrical engineering experience
  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
  • Organisational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of utilising continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Experience in design and start-up of equipment and installations.
  • Experience in maintenance management.
