Location: Central London, UK
Salary: £40,447 - £57,206 (depending on experience) + Exceptional Benefits
Permanent Role: 37.5 hrs per week (Mon-Fri)

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Paediatric Orthopaedics we'll look to you to use your expertise to provide holistic and evidence-based care throughout the Orthopaedic pathway.

Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team but also autonomously as you oversee the patient journey.

You'll be an advocate for the patient, providing specialist nursing advice and emotional support throughout their journey with this employer whilst also driving service development and staff education. Clinical Nursing Specialist (CNS) is responsible and accountable for their own practice, working independently delivering high quality, safe, evidence-based practice, whilst adhering to and following all appropriate corporate and local policies, always complying with Clinical Governance.

Although most of the CNS role is working independently, the post holder is expected to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team including, specialist consultants, paediatricians, nursing and therapy staff.

The post holder requires excellent organisational and management skills with the ability to work flexibly responding to the needs of the service. They must maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to converse with a broad spectrum of individuals effectively and professionally. You will be responsible for identifying areas of their service for development; then implementing and evaluating change using current research, audit and experience.

What requirements are needed to be successful in the job role?

  • Children's Nursing Qualification - RN Child or RSCN with valid NMC registration
  • Extensive post registration experience in Children's nursing
  • Nursing Degree or health related subject
  • Extensive experience within Specialism
  • Relevant qualification in specialist area with at least 12 months experience
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Basic/Intermediate Paediatric Life Support
  • Experience of audit and research relevant to specialism
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes, with up-to-date level 3 Safeguarding qualification
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and managing risk
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
