£21 - £30/hour £1,000 (pro rata) joining bonus

RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with an independent private nursing home specialising in nursing and dementia care, located in Rosemount, Blairgowrie situated 30 minutes from Perth and Dundee.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse to provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment for service users within a Care Home for the older adult meeting all identified physical and psychosocial needs.

The Role

As a Registered Nurse you will lead a care team to deliver excellent care and support to meet the physical, psychological, and social needs of our residents.

Providing residents with a safe and supportive environment while also relying on your professional judgment to make clinical decisions is what our Registered Nurses will do for them. In order to maximise individual strengths and abilities and enable wellbeing, we believe in a person-cantered approach.

As part of our support for professional development, all our care staff participate in the University of Stirling's Best Practice in Dementia learning programme.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold the professional standards contained within ‘The Code’ by the NMC.
  • Deliver care & support as set by The Scottish Health & Social Care Standards.
  • Be responsible for the direct nursing care, treatment and support of residents.
  • Take responsibility as a named nurse for several residents which includes attending reviews, initiating and completing care plans.
  • Ensure that the privacy, dignity and respect of each individual resident is fully considered and complies with the rules of confidentiality.
  • Act as an advocate for the residents as appropriate.
  • Assist in the orientation and continued development of the care team.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, residents and their families.
  • Enable residents to continue with their own interests in music, drama, movement, art, literature and environmental interests as appropriate.
  • Have a full understanding of the staff health & safety policy and to display a high awareness of safety standards at all times.
  • Assist the residents to achieve/ maintain as much independence as possible.
  • Report immediately any accidents, incidents or concerns to the Care home manager (as appropriate) and uphold the high standard of nursing care as documented within the homes policies and procedures.
  • Support residents in attending appointments, activities and outings out with the home or activities and meetings within the home.
  • Ensure that appropriate members of the team are adhering to their individual job descriptions. and that all health and safety requirements are being met.
  • Work flexible shift patterns to suit the needs of the home.
  • When supervising mealtimes, to ensure that the carers are aware of the physical, social and emotional needs of the residents and assist as required.
  • Participate in appropriate staff meetings in order to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the home.
  • ·Arrangements to be in place to allow time to assess student nurses where applicable and assist with care assistants who are undergoing SVQ training.
  • Maintain continual professional development and ensure NMC registration is adhered to and is up to date.
  • Administer medication and controlled drugs as per policy.
