Do you have a passion for influencing the development of young minds through education? A school in High Wycombe is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join their dynamic team and play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment!

About the school:

SENDhelp is currently hiring for a learning mentor position in collaboration with our partner school situated on the outskirts of Buckinghamshire in the lively city of High Wycombe. As the newly appointed behaviour learning mentor, you will be part of a school that continually evolves to address the diverse needs of our students, providing a tailored and comprehensive educational environment.

In your role as a Behaviour Learning Mentor, you will join a team that emphasises unconditional positive regard and acceptance of students, separating behaviour from the individual and actively working to reshape student's self-concept and self-directed behaviour.

Your responsibilities will involve working in a school with specialised education provisions for secondary students. Specifically, you will be supporting pupils aged between 11 and 19 years old who are no longer able to attend mainstream education. The school has a small enrolment of no more than ten students, all facing cognitive and communication difficulties leading to complex and challenging behaviours.

As the new behaviour learning mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students, some of whom may have co-morbid diagnoses such as autistic spectrum disorder and other associated neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.

Requirements for Learning mentor:

  • Enchaned DBS Check required
  • Possesses a friendly demeanor and is a dedicated team player.
  • Capable of managing 1:1 student interaction, 2:1 situation, and effectively handling challenging behaviour.
  • Finds enjoyment in working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish positive working relationships with both
