A&E SPR (Senior Specialty Registrar)

Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and expert management of patients presenting to the emergency department with acute medical conditions, injuries, and trauma under the supervision of Consultants.
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, diagnostic investigations, and treatment interventions, ensuring timely and appropriate care delivery.
- Assist in the coordination of emergency medical services, including the triage of patients, allocation of resources, and management of patient flow within the emergency department.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, including Foundation Doctors, Core Trainees, and Medical Students, in the delivery of patient care and professional development activities.
- Participate actively in the multidisciplinary team, collaborating effectively with nurses, allied health professionals, paramedics, and support staff to facilitate seamless patient care and transitions across the emergency care pathway.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of emergency medical services and patient outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including participation in training programs, clinical audits, and research projects, to enhance clinical competency and knowledge in emergency medicine.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility for entry onto the GMC Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of higher speciality training in Emergency Medicine (ST4 level or above) and evidence of progression towards CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the assessment and management of a broad range of medical and surgical emergencies, trauma cases, and resuscitation procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and provide mentorship and support to junior colleagues.
