Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to patients under the supervision of consultant obstetricians and gynaecologists.
- Participate actively in the management of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including conducting obstetric assessments, performing deliveries, and managing obstetric emergencies.
- Assist in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological conditions, including outpatient clinics, surgical procedures, and inpatient care.
- Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and clinical audits to review patient cases and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Take responsibility for the accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, clinical findings, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attendance at relevant educational events, courses, and training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to clinical governance and patient safety protocols and maintain high standards of professional conduct and ethical practice at all times.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Completion of Foundation Year 2 (FY2) training or equivalent experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Demonstrated interest and commitment to pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a strong foundation in basic clinical skills and knowledge.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as required by the training program.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in training and assessment activities as part of the Specialty Training (ST3) curriculum.
