Senior HR Business Partner – Retail Pharmacies

Runcorn, Cheshire

Join one of the largest pharmacy businesses in Europe with a great mission.

Every day, we contribute to improving the quality of life for millions of people.

Our Rowlands Pharmacy business is the heartbeat of community health across the UK.

About the role

As a result of an internal promotion, we’re looking for a highly engaging and commercially astute HRBP to lead on developing and delivering the HR plan for Rowlands.

Reporting into the Director of HR, you’ll partner a people-centric retail leadership team and work alongside our HR shared services teams to ensure that Rowlands can attract, develop, engage, and retain pharmacy colleagues at all levels.

Our ideal candidate

We are keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience as a HRBP/senior HRBP in a large-scale organisation - preferably a muti-site business and ideally within a national retail or pharmacy business.

You will be savvy at, and be able to evidence, both the what and the how of HR partnering – having developed and delivered HR initiatives with tangible people and commercial results.  You’ll have achieved this by building trusted relationships with your stakeholders in the business and across HR, whilst demonstrating strong values.

As with most HRBP roles we’ll use the cliché ‘you need to be a generalist’, which of course you do; however, there is a focus on colleague engagement and retention; ER and TU relationships, and reward in this role – therefore having these capabilities will set you apart. You should also be comfortable with leading colleagues within our HR shared service functions through acquisitions, harmonisation, and other Retail HR specific projects. Ideally you will also be fully CIPD qualified.

How will you succeed in this role?

  • You’ll be pacy and driven. Our pharmacies are busy places – right place, right time, right dose – sometimes down to the minute, whilst also delivering community health services.
  • You’ll be articulate but also able to keep things simple.
  • You definitely be results and change orientated with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • You’ll need to work flexibly – our head office in Runcorn will be your base. You’ll be out in the field when required and you’ll also be able to work partly from home. Most of your working week will be head office or field based.

Compensation and Reward

As well as a competitive salary and performance bonus, you’ll receive a generous car allowance or a company car – you choose, a generous holiday entitlement, private health care, a health cash plan, access to our wellbeing initiatives, a market leading recognition programme plus many other benefits.

To apply, please send your CV to us with your salary, bonus, and any other reward expectations.

The role will be open until filled.
