Registered Nurse - Inpatients: Essentials
Proven experience in a similar clinical role.
• NMC professional registration.
• Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• In-depth knowledge of current professional practice issues, particularly relevant to the unit.
• Familiarity with standards of professional practice in the broader healthcare context.
• Additional professional registration (Desirable).
• Completion of a post-basic course (Desirable).
• Experience in research and audit (Desirable).
• Evidence of change management (Desirable).

Registered Nurse - Inpatients: Responsibilities
• Provide the highest standards of nursing care across diverse care settings.
• Ensure meticulous preparation of clinic rooms for procedures, maintaining sterility of instruments, equipment, and supplies while optimizing resource use.
• Timely and precise completion of the Patient Record.
• Mentor students, learners, junior nurses, and Health Care Assistants, with documented progress tracking.
• Participate in teaching within your area of knowledge and expertise.
• Efficiently organize your time and take ownership of delegated duties from the Lead Nurse or unit nursing lead.
• Maintain effective communication channels at all times.
• Act as a specialist/link person after receiving relevant training in your area of expertise.
• Develop patient pathways for both physical and psychological readiness for necessary procedures.
• Provide comprehensive documented information to patients about planned procedures.
• Obtain patient consent for specific procedures after completing relevant online training and skills development.
• Deliver patient care according to recognized standards, research, and evidence-based best clinical practices.
