Research Associate / Senior Research Associate - Applications and NGS

Role profile:

Joining a skilled and innovative team of multidisciplinary scientists, the successful applicant will be adding value and insight to a novel NGS platform development team.

Role requirements:

  • Supporting NGS technology development, including development of biochemistry and molecular biology modules.
  • Designing of experiments for the development of the technology and execution in a timely manner
  • Provide detailed write ups of experiments, complete with analysis of data
  • Participate in the integration of the assay chemistries into the automated processers
  • Effective management of required documentation in accordance with company quality management system and ISO 13485 standards


Person specification:

  • BSc (or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
  • Proven and in-depth knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction and PCR
  • Proficiency with biochemistry techniques
  • Ability to design, troubleshoot, perform and analyse experiments
  • Ability to generate high quality experimental output and analysis
  • Knowledge of NGS workflows would be advantageous, primarily on the sample preparation/ NGS library preparation methods
