Smart Solutions are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Process based in Swansea. Working for an award-winning business, as the Head of Process, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading research and development projects to ensure efficiency and productivity. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

Hours: Days, Monday to Friday. Office based role.

Duties of Head of Process:

• Leading the Process and Technical team and department
• Outline detailed process design of systems, including production of mass balances, P&IDs, control philosophy, commissioning plans, etc.
• Lead process commissioning of newly installed systems.
• Troubleshooting of poorly performing systems on behalf of the customer, including interface with the customer.
• Research & Development work to both better understand and develop the current technology as well as develop new technologies and applications.
• Technical Support to the multidisciplinary Design Team during project development, including interfacing with the customer.
• An ability to analyse data and both produce clear and concise reports/presentations for a variety of audiences.
• Occasional laboratory work may be required
• Technical support to the sales and marketing team, including direct contact with both existing and potential customers.

Requirements of Head of Process:

• Extensive R&D Project management experience
• A degree in chemical engineering or that of a scientific degree
• Comfortable in managing a team
• Ability to work well towards strict deadlines
