Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Technician at P2P Recruitment, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of pharmaceutical care within healthcare facilities. You'll collaborate closely with healthcare teams to support medication therapy, ensure safe dispensing practices, and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Medication Management: Assist in the review of medication orders and patient profiles to ensure accurate dispensing, dosage, and administration.
  • Work alongside healthcare teams to ensure compliance with medication regimens based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
  • Clinical Support: Provide valuable support by offering drug information and assistance to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
  • Help address queries regarding drug therapy, adverse reactions, and medication interactions.
  • Patient Assistance: Assist in educating patients and caregivers on medication use, including proper administration techniques, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
  • Support patients in actively managing their treatment plans and maintaining their health effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement projects.
  • Assist in conducting medication reviews, monitoring therapy outcomes, and identifying opportunities for process enhancement to uphold pharmaceutical care standards. Interdisciplinary
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate medication management and address medication-related issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice, including dispensing requirements, controlled substance management, and documentation standards. Maintain accurate records and uphold ethical standards in all aspects of pharmaceutical care.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated on new medications, treatment guidelines, and emerging trends in pharmacy practice. Engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, participating in continuing education programs, and pursuing certifications to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent qualification
  • Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician Clinical pharmacy experience or relevant work experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of pharmacotherapy principles and pharmacy operations
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and promoting medication safety
