Modern medicine development is trending towards developing personalised treatments for individual patients. As part of this research & development, innovative companies are developing complex assays that identify biomarkers for drug responses in clinical samples.

Our client, has identified unique protein signatures in clinical samples that have been verified as biomarkers for drug response. Using a range of high end mass spectrometry equipment, they have designed and developed novel biomarker assays that could be used in a clinical setting to analyse drug efficacy, ensuring that an effective treatment is prescribed more often.

You will be responsible for developing & optimizing these LC-MS biomarker methods, analysing complex data sets and contributing towards the continuous improvement of existing assays and taking a leading role in the development of novel assays to target new disease areas.

Candidates with the following experience will be considered for this role:

  • PhD focused on mass spectrometry method development; ideally with a proteomics background, however metabolomics and lipidomic backgrounds will also be considered
  • Experience of handling and working with biological/clinical samples e.g. cell lines, blood, tissue
  • Excellent communication skills
