Social Worker (Social Care) - Childrens
Position: Social Worker
Location: Liverpool North Connexions Centre, Utting Avenue East, Liverpool, L11 1DQ
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 2 days remote, 3 days in the office
Pay Rate: £ 28.40 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities
Undertake assessments of children, young people, and families within the CASS/MASH Family Help Team.
Manage referrals, safeguarding concerns, and child protection enquiries in line with statutory requirements and council procedures.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including education, health, police, and other support services to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
Carry out risk assessments and develop effective support and intervention plans for children and families.
Provide timely advice, guidance, and support to families experiencing difficulties or safeguarding concerns.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records, reports, and assessments using internal systems.
Attend case conferences, strategy meetings, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings where required.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Respond effectively to urgent situations and make informed decisions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
Work closely with colleagues within the Family Help Team to deliver high-quality social care services.
Person Specification
Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (Social Work England).
Experience working within children’s social care, safeguarding, MASH, or assessment services.
Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding practices, and statutory social work responsibilities.
Ability to assess risk, make sound professional judgments, and manage complex cases effectively.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
Strong report writing, assessment, and case recording skills.
Ability to manage a demanding workload and work effectively under pressure.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and vulnerable families.
