Please note this is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00. 

This position is to join the food chemistry sample preparation team in Wolverhampton, the purpose of this position is to prepare samples for analysis as specified by and in line with client requirements, ensuring smooth operation and flow of samples by following standard procedures currently in place. 

Main duties:

• Complete the preparation of samples in accordance with standard operating procedures, standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
• Distribution of samples to laboratories for analysis.
• To identify any anomalies and be able to take the necessary steps for a quick resolution.
• Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of departmental work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
• Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner. 
• Partake in any cross departmental developmental training to support and assist with the registration of chemistry samples.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in regards to sample/result queries via email and telephone, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
