This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people (CYP). Working in close partnership with Surrey Healthy Schools, you will have an opportunity to shape and develop this role to ensure that we are supporting schools and parent/carers with how they respond to, and manage, substance misuse concerns and incidents that occur, within the student population.

Promoting healthy behaviours in CYP, this is an excellent opportunity to build your experience and network across the local education and substance misuse/PHSE environment.

  • Work collaboratively with local schools and other relevant agencies to deliver a holistic package of care; this may include attending multi agency meetings.  Ensure effective referrals, care and risk management, as well as ease of transition and referral for CYP.
  • Offer an initial triage/assessment for students (aged up to 18) where concerns/incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified and onward referral of CYP into SYPSMS as appropriate (CYP’s consent will be required for direct support).
  • Offering appropriate specialist harm reduction advice/information to parents/carers and referral of CYP into SYPSMS where appropriate.
