We are looking for an experienced social worker to join the Children in Care Team in Eastleigh and Winchester. You will be passionate about providing quality services to children in care, and their families, carers, placement and networks, delivered within a strength-based approach model. You'll thrive in a position working with children to promote their wellbeing, relationships with their families and to achieve the best outcome possible for them. You will look after a complex caseload of children who are care experienced, in this challenging but hugely rewarding role. Your expertise will span the range of statutory provisions, but particularly you would ideally have experience working with Children in Care and those where Care Proceedings have been initiated. You will work closely with these children and their families to undertake holistic social work assessments to identify risk and need; and work with multi-agency networks to develop and review plans that address and mitigate concerns in a timely manner. You'll be comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. You will be part of a stable, friendly team. You will be required to liaise with health and education professionals to develop support packages for children with complex needs. The ability to understand and navigate multi-agency systems and processes is essential. Your practical skills as a Social Worker will be supported by a working knowledge of the legislation that governs work with Children, including the Children's Act 1989 as amended, the Children's Act 2002, the Care Act 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014. A Social Work qualification is essential and prior experience of working with children with in care is desirable.
